Guest RedAres Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 I have a PanTech Matrix Pro. It runs WM 6.1 but a lot of the software I download says it works for WM but it doesn't work for my phone. What type of software should I be looking for? Also, I see people running PPC programs on what I thought was a smartphone and it works for them. What is the exact difference between a PPC and smartphone? Lack of touchscreen? Any help would be appreciated.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 Basically yes. Unfortunately Microsoft have over the last year greyed the term Smartphone to include PocketPC devices so they are now all called Windows Mobile devices instead of Smartphone and Pocket PC. So you have a Windows Mobile Standard device, so any applications need to be for a non touchscreen device.
Guest RedAres Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 (edited) Hmmm...I guess that makes sense. If I'm trying to run flash swf files on my cellphone, what do I need to do? I don't mean play flash video. I already figured out how to use Avidemux to change any flv file I find into the best format for my cellphone. I mainly want to run some flash animations or even possibly games. I saw there was Flash 7 and Flashlite...but I saw they were for WM5.0 on the site I saw them on...so I don't know if they worked. I found a link on this forum about a tutorial from July 2007 that was for WM5.0 and WM6.0 to run flash files...but I think it was flash 7. I was wondering if there was something more recent. Additionally...should all WM6.0 smartphone software work for my WM6.1 phone? I would assume so but assuming seems to be part of my problem. Finally, of the methods available how does one click on parts of the flash? Tab and cycle through all of the clickable areas? Ultimately, I just need something that has the highest compatibility possible. I don't even really need it to work with a browser. I'll use just the swf files if that is needed.
