I never really thought antivirus software was necessary for smarthphones... or perhaps everyone else uses it but I don't know about it hehe. What are you worried about in relation to browsing safety?

Nothing in particular and maybe I'm just being over cautious but it seems just as likely a problem could occur the same as any other internet connected machine.

Found this so far... http://mobile.spybot.info/

EDIT: Library.dll wasn't found :D

you have less a chance getting a virus or something on winmo than you do on a mac. does that ease your concern? lol

but really, if there was a program for this, you'd basically be killing your phones performance for absolutely no reason at all.

i think its safe to say that we still have a few years before we need to worry about any crap like that on our cellies.

here's a diff link if you really wanna try: http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=30

Setting aside the likely hood of getting a virus for a phone, who cares when it is as easy as it is to wipe and restore. i mean, takes like 10 mins.

having said that, Kaspersky offers a program that protects against threats and actually does something useful as well.

On a side rant, i can tell you that any free protection program for phone computer or anything is NOT useless, but is darn close to it. I spend 40h a week cleaning viruses off computers and almost all the infected computers have ad-aware or spybot or avg or avast or what have you. for the most part, unless the client installed a P2P program i rarely see computers with Kas or NAV or Webroot or even Trend or McAfee .

There's also a mobile version of NOD32:

http://www.eset.com/products/mobileantivirus.php

Their web page says that the SGH-i900 is unsupported, but I ran the trial version on my i910 and it worked fine.

I didn't keep the mobile NOD32 though because right now I just don't think there's enough mobile threats out there. I'm just careful about what software I load on my phone.
