I just installed Google Latitude on my i910, and was wondering if anyone else was having problems inputting text with the Samsung keyboard? It seems I can put text in fine with the built in Windows Moble Ugly as Sin keyboard however.

No problems here using the sammy keyboard, use it all the time. What kind of problems are you having?

Well I go to put in my username for the Google Latitude log in, and I can, but then when I move to the password input I can't put in my password unless I change over to the built in WinMo keyboard, then, if I want to update location info manually I can't use the Samsung keyboard either. But the 1 bit keyboard works fine.

OK- i just walked through the steps using the sammy keyboard. When you sign in, you have to scroll down to get to the password textbox - does a scroll bar appear in the login window on the right? Also, which screen orientation are you using - I always use non-landscape mode. I am using google maps v3.0.1.6 - are you using the same version?

Yes yes the scroll bar works, the input works, I can move it around and sign in, just not with the Samsung Keyboard. I reset the phone and reinstalled the cab I'm using 3.0.1.6 as well. I'm using the default firmware. When I go to change my status, with the samsung keyboard (cursor in the box) I get vibration when I hit keys, but no text shows up. When I change to just Keyboard I can put in text just fine. But since I seem to be the only one with the problem I guess it's something on my end.

I am using the "unofficial" rom, cc20 I believe is the version. Which ROM version are you using?

yea I had this problem with the Samsung keyboard in google maps before I flashed the "leaked" rom. I think if you switch to the phonepad or the keypad instead of the keyboard it will work, or use another SIP like touchpal or fingerKeyboard, or flash with the leaked rom. If you are using the original VZW ROM, latitude might not be much use since GPS is locked down.

Ohhh ok then it -IS- a bug that is keyboard based. I am using the virgin verizon rom atm. I know gps is locked I was just trying to get a feel for the program.

I think it's a keyboard bug or something because the same thing happens to me. What I do is after putting in my username is scroll up until the password field is visible, then it lets me enter it. Wierd.

Its a known issue that google is aware of. They haven't implemented a fix for this problem yet. Its seems like the only way to fix it right now is to install on of the roms.
