Help! Cannot connect using Opera

Please help me, when I try connecting to the internet using Opera I am unable to get a connection. But if I use Internet Explorer, I am able to connect. Why is that? I did not change any connection setting in both Opera and IE. Before this problem, I was able to connect to the internet using both Opera and IE. But since I am used to IE, I placed it in the start menu instead of Opera which was the default explorer in the start menu. After that, I am unable to connect to the internet using Opera. Why was it affected by the change that I made?

check in the settings in opera abt the connection and the settings for it, like connect using "my internet"

Sorry guys, I may not have explained my problem properly. The problem I have with Opera is not really with the connection to the internet because I am able to get a connection when I open Opera. What happens is that I am unable to browse anything in Opera because it says that either the URL is incorrect or the settings is incorrect. Let's say I click Opera, a bubble appears saying it is connecting to the internet, either 3G or GPRS, then it gets connected. But Opera says there is an error connecting to the default site which is the home page of my service provider. The error says that either the URL is incorrect or the settings is incorrect. I type the site of google and it still says the error. I close Opera and open IE without disconnecting the internet connection. It connects to the default page which is the service provider home page without any problem and when i go to google, it takes me there without any problem. So i think it is not the connection that is the problem but my Opera. I tried both the connection settings within Opera which is Automatically detect settings and The Internet but still the same problem. Hope somebody can help me here. Thanks!
