i910 leaked ROM, CorePlayer, and WMV streaming not working

I'm unable to get CorePlayer to decode and show wmv streaming video from my Orb server with a clean install of the new ROM. Wondering if anyone else has seen this, knows a solution, or can try out the same situation and report back if they are having the same problem.

BACKROUND: I upgraded to the leaked ROM to get GPS functionality. I did a "rom upgrade" restore from an SpbBackup afterward, which seemed to go just fine, and I had my old customized Omnia back, with GPS working. Here's the interesting thing: CorePlayer worked just fine streaming from Orb.

I was having other problems (freeze ups, bootup programs not starting because of "missing critical component or not enough memory", some other annoyances), so I decided to take the plunge, hard-reset, and rebuild my configuration from a clean slate.

After doing that, I can't get CorePlayer to play a WMV stream from my Orb server. If I restore the previous mushed together setup, it works again.

Also, with the new install/setup of everything, I can stream just fine to PWMP. I can stream 3GP format from Orb to CorePlayer successfully too. It's just WMV. Unfortunately, WMV is the only streaming choice that yields good quality video. Oh, and the built-in YouTube streaming works just fine too.

Anyway, any advice, experiences, etc. is welcome. CorePlayer is the hands-down best player out there, I've been using it for a few years, and would be pretty unhappy if I had to abandon it.

BTW, suggestions of other players to try (just in case) that have a rich set of adjustments (like pixel aspect ratio, zooming, cropping, equalizer -- those are the biggies, but I do use a lot of other features) are welcome too.
