How to hide the message count number of SPB Mobile Shell 3

Anyone know of a reg hack or anything to make the little counter number on the sms/email/missed call widgets go away? I have customised the icons themselves so they are invisible when there is no unread item but the little 0 underneath stays and looks a bit silly on my nice clean lifestyle screen
