Guest boozinbuzz Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Anyone had any luck getting the device to sync w/ Windows Mobile Device Center on a machine running the Windows 7 RC? I keep getting an error. I played around with a few settings but I haven't had any success. Do any of ya'll have some ideas?

Guest theidoctor.org Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 i think i had gotten it working on my friends phone... not the flashing part, but getting everything to connect
Guest Echew Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 i think i had gotten it working on my friends phone... not the flashing part, but getting everything to connect One thing you can try is plugging it into another USB port and let Windows enumerate it thus installing the driver again...
Guest jamesLJ Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Anyone getting it to work with 6.1? try UNinstalling windows mobile center (if you have it with windows 7 RC) and then installing windows mobile center 6.1 fresh, thats what I did and I Havent had any problems :D
Guest mnegutu Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 I have 6.1 and had no problem setting up a partnership on windows 7 beta build 7048 and synching.
Guest rckymtnrfc Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 I wish I could remember the exact steps, but I setup my Omnia with Win 7 last night and I did have some problems with drivers. There was a setting somewhere to allow Windows 7 to download and install drivers (i thought it was weird I had to enable that)...once I did that I just reconnected my phone and it worked fine.
Guest Slick86 Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 I have 7 beta 2 and mine worked with no problems. I even did a rom flash from it.
Guest demon-knight Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Yep it works for me right out the box, some people have suggested that you turn uac off or run install as administrator, then it should work if your having issues.
Guest aceofrazgriz Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 I got it to connect and such. Installed Outlook 03 but it wouldn't actually sync data. I could explore filesystem and all that jazz though. Win7 is a dud tho, the performance the Beta had is gone, and therefore the most appealing thing of 7.
Guest Chugworth Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 I have never had any trouble connecting to mine with Windows 7, both in Beta 1 and RC1. I even ran the firmware upgrade from it. You just install Windows, plug in the device, then Windows Update will download the full WMDC. After it installs, you can connect. But then, I only connect to mine for file access. I never use any of the WMDC synchronization.
Guest yojoe600 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 i have windows 7 7100 and i ahve not had a problem yet.. i have also flashed with some roms just fine
Guest dercetojones Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 I didn't have any trouble on Windows 7 build 7077 but when I tried it on RC (7100), Device Center wouldn't open. I finally ended up uninstalling it from Control Panel and reinstalling from Microsoft's website. It works fine now. Very weird.
Guest Anusha Dharmasena Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 I had my own issues Windows Vista and Windows 7. When I connect to the back USB ports, I will always get the error message saying "USB device not recognized" or something like that. I have to use the front USB ports always. But the problem with that is that the ports are a bit loose thanks to the stupid case, and I can't do a flash from home >_> SUCKS! But it is working! By anusha
Guest lonely2k5 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Hello everyone... Activesync had worked for me on every Win7 from 68xx version till 7100 without problems. I even flashed my omnia over 10 times in win 7 without any virtual pc or such. Just opened updater .exe and extract to parts.... then updated with grandprix vista 1.6.4 without problems. Also worked with phone part without modem driver....1st time it went time out but win7 succesfully downloaded all drivers and 2nd time it worked without problems. p.s. For me it worked for all you it's your responsibility... :D   my omnia
Guest oogravyoo Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 I've run Ver 7000, 7077 and have 7100 waiting to be installed.. the first two releases I had no issues with syncing..
Guest Ang3lo Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Do you get CAB via Active Sync working with Windows 7 ? I get an error with Win7 RC x64.
