Guest WhoTheHellAmI Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 I left my phone out in my truck last night (windows rolled down and raining, but not in direct contact with rain) and went out to get it this morning. First thing I noticed was the phone was off. I turned it on and everything seemed normal, except that it had a half of a battery. (usually if i leave it laying around overnight it kills the battery because it keeps searching for a signal...hooray for living in the middle of nowhere!) Then i realized the touch screen was not responding to any touches from stylus or finger. Another small, but possibly significant thing i noticed is that the red "charging" led in the power button does not light...I have not tested enough to see if the green or blue leds in the button light up or not. Since then I have been using the "optical mouse" option, which is extremely inconvenient when used with the keyboard. If anyone else has dealt with this problem, please let me know. I just hope I don't have to send it back to Verizon for a new one...that would be another $50 like the last time I had to send a phone back. Is it possible that humidity caused temporary or permanent internal damage? Edit: It also seems to have cleared all volatile memory when it turned off, because my "last used" programs list in the start menu is also empty.
Guest Root-dir Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 check the water indicators on the inside bellow the micro sd slot and also the one on the battery if they dont indicate it got wet you ought to still be under waranty... if it does indicate it got wet you are basicly screwed cause it instantly voids your waranty
Guest WhoTheHellAmI Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 the water indicator on the battery is fine, but the one by the sd slot shows blurring on the edge, hopefully a defect in the sticker? other than that its all "sharp" x's on there
