Guest naadimre Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 hi all...just got the omnia and you all have been tons of help!! anyway, just wondering if anyone has a fix to the sluggish accelerometer action? it seems that it registers the change in orientation right away (i get the vibration indicator), but then take 3-4 seconds to finally rotate the screen! i think this is really unacceptable and i'm wondering if others have this problem too? am i just supposed to get used to it? i've fiddled with the settings to change it to be more sensitive to rotating portrait to landscape...but all this seems to do is that it registers it more easily, but still takes 3-4 sec to change screen orientation. .. really annoying!!! :D thanks!!
Guest Tim-H Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 (edited) That is 100% software and not hardware. The stock ROM can be pretty sluggish. Installing a lite, or even one of the other custom roms might help you. The accelerometer its self has no noticable lag time. Edited May 9, 2009 by Tim-H
Guest aceofrazgriz Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Yeah, it can be hit or miss sometimes with the rotation. On the stock ROM i had times where it was incredibly snappy, and times where i had to wait. But i have to admit since flashing, its alot better and rarely as long as u mention. Give it a try if your up for it, but note the consequences and be careful if you've never done such a thing.

Currently i'm using a 6.5 ROM. I've always noticed theres times of good performance, then the random series of slow keyboard response/rotation and generally slow performance. I don't use my phone that often through the day usually, so when it seems slow and i stop using it, the next time i go to play around its perfectly fine. Its just a performance issue with the system, nothing to do really with teh Accelerometer as mentioned above. You could soft reset, try closing programs down and such. But essentially, its just going to happen, but its really not so bad as great as this device is :D
