Guest WhoTheHellAmI Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 (edited) Ok...my touch screen is out until i can get a replacement from verizon...when their rep had me hard reset i got stuck at the "tap the screen to set up your windows mobile-based device" screen...if i edit the registry and add the calibration values i can bypass this screen and the calibration screen...so i was wondering if there was any way to edit the registry from a computer using the activesync connection to get to the registry Edited May 13, 2009 by WhoTheHellAmI

EDIT: Well that was fast, heres the zip file for it too. nothing to install on phone. http://nickmal.hopto.org/mobileregistryeditor.zip Edited May 9, 2009 by aceofrazgriz
Guest WhoTheHellAmI Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 (edited) thanks much...will let you know if it works edit: it did not allow me access...most likely because the phone hasn't gone thru a full activation yet...i guess i will just wait til monday for my free replacement...lol Edited May 9, 2009 by WhoTheHellAmI
Guest Turborepu Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 i read somewhere on here that with activesync you can put a certain file in your windows folder and it bypasses that.. but i dont remember the details.. maybe one of the gurus will chime in..
Guest WhoTheHellAmI Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Sorry, mobiler didn't work either...but it does seem like something i will use when i get my replacement...thanks...and also for the reg editing app...useful, but not working in this case
Guest Tim-H Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 (edited) If you're comfortable flashing. Blazingwolf's ROM has the calibraton disabled on startup. It's definitely my favorite ROM. Edited May 9, 2009 by Tim-H
Guest WhoTheHellAmI Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 yeah...i was thinking about using that rom...but im on dialup right now so i would probably get my new phone before i finished downloading that rom...lol
Guest Adrynalyne Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 yeah...i was thinking about using that rom...but im on dialup right now so i would probably get my new phone before i finished downloading that rom...lol All of the cooked i910 roms currently are pre-calibrated. I wouldn't choose one on that feature alone :D
Guest WhoTheHellAmI Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 Yeah...I was going to choose that one or the 6.5 minimal one...but i dont know how 6.5 is right now with bugs.
Guest new2city Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 if your phone can be connect via activesync, you can use registry workshop(demo version available), you can actually do a lot through your PC for your PPC..
Guest Adrynalyne Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 CeRegEditor is the defacto standard for Aictivesync reg editing.
Guest WhoTheHellAmI Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 does anyone know if those two tools will work before the phone is activated? the problem i had with the first reg editor was that the un-activated phone would not grant it access
Guest aceofrazgriz Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 (edited) i just re-read the first post... you get stuck on the calibration screen because it won't pick up your touches? how hard have you tried pressing? i remember originally having to press REALLY hard to get it to register on the calibration screen. if you weren't being rough with it, try that! Press really hard. (btw i've done this a few times and it hasn't given me any problems with the screen from pressing so hard) Edited May 10, 2009 by aceofrazgriz
Guest WhoTheHellAmI Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 (edited) Ok...here's the situation...(not known to verizon)...I left my phone out in my truck during a rainstorm and the humidity caused some kind of short in the touch screen...luckily for me the water indicators were not messed up. Anyway, I got my replacement yesterday (along with 3 stitches, but thats another story altogether) and now have all my junk back how it was before...end of story lol. Anyway, now i'm wondering how stable the 6.5 releases are...i'm considering upgrading, since at the moment i'm just using azintegra's leaked verizon rom. So comments, suggestions? Thanks ahead of time. Edited May 13, 2009 by WhoTheHellAmI
