Hello!

Welcome to the Samsung Omnia i900 Forum.

The Idea: To create a simple, easy to follow guide from Box to Pocket. Including flashing a ROM, installing custom software and unlocking.

Stage 1: In this thread we are asking for your help to provide really really simple guides to the basic things you have done with your Omnia on day one.

I will update the checklist below as we get the parts together. Once we have them all, I'll edit them and file it all together into one, easy and simple comprehensive guide to get your Omnia up and running the way it was designed to!

So what are you waiting for! Get to it!

How to provide information: Its simple, reply to this thread with STAGE1 in the subject line followed by what your guide is about and write your guide, preferably in steps including a "You Will Need" and if possible an estimated time frame of how long your guide takes from start to finish!

Checklist

• Learning about your device (IMEI, Model Number etc)
  
• Using a Windows Mobile Phone for the first time. (How to do basic tasks in Windows Mobile)
  
• Unlocking your device to any phone network
  
• Updating your phone with the latest firmware (Location of downloads, how-to etc)
  
• Installing a Custom Operating System (ROM)
  
• Looking after your device (Connection to 3.5mm, Covers, Cases etc)
  
  
  • A Jargon Buster: ROM, IMEI, Radio, Firmware, OS, WM etc.

What you could do to make things tidy is to let people create their own topics in the Omnia section and have an index with links to the post?

If this becomes popular we can make it a opinned post.

I never received my activation email so I used a different username but strangely I got it a few weeks ago and now Im buying an Omnia what better way to start!
