Guest gorf1000 Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 Does anyone know how to disable the sound notification when the i910 Omnia reaches full charge? I keep my phone on charge next to my bed and I keep it face down to put it in etiquette mode. However, that mode apparently still allows it to make sound when the phone reaches full charge. I'm a heavy sleeper so I don't usually notice it but it does wake up my wife when around 1:30 in the morning there's a loud bleep from the phone. Currently I have two options, turn the phone off or on silent but I don't really want to always have to remember to do that (because that means I'd also have to remember to turn the volume up again in the morning). I would think that this is configurable somewhere, I don't find it in any of the menus, and I did some searching through the registry but I didn't find any keys that seem obviously to point to that. I have no need for it to notify my when it's fully charged since I charge it every night so I'd love to be able to just shut this off completely. Any help from the experts? Thanks!

Guest Omega Ra Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 people have been trying to figure this one out for a while, with no luck. Etiquette should shut it up...it does for me. Make sure you actually have etiquette enabled...

I sit it on one of those cable-hiding charge stations and it's on a slight angle, could it be sensitive enough that it would still go off?
Guest Omega Ra Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 possibly. I have mine laying flat on the face, though sometimes my stylus gets under it or the charging wire, and never have an issue.
Guest krelvinaz Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 I used the info from: http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-h...e/#entry1007875 worked for me.

Guest krelvinaz Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 just checked that out and there is no default string in the default folder. Below are my Registry screen shots and the Sounds and Notification screen that resulted. I added the string to default "Charge Notification String" I did this change 5 days ago and it worked for me.

I just added the string right after I posted that, we'll see what happens when I get fully charged
Guest ardvarkofdoom Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 (edited) OK... so since you can use that change to put anything you want... that means it'll stop the low battery warning as well as the charging complete notification right? DOH! I get it now <face palm> Hurray for finding the seperate low battery notification in the registry! Edited May 12, 2009 by ardvarkofdoom
Guest Chugworth Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Hmm... That's an odd "fix." Is Windows Mobile specifically looking for a string that says "Charge Complete Notification" ? I wonder if you were to change that string to something else, would it have the same effect? If so, then you may be affecting other notifications also.
Guest Omega Ra Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 (edited) Well it didn't work. I added a string called Default with a value Charge Complete and went into settings and unchecked the play sound box and still got the annoying alert... Edited May 12, 2009 by Omega Ra
Guest Tim-H Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Using a file explorer program, like total commander. Go into your windows directory and overwrite phonelowbatt.wav with the one i attached here.phonelowbatt.wav
Guest ardvarkofdoom Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Registry works for low battery notification... need one for charging complete that works. The registry change above didn't fix it for me (although I've since soft reset...). Also, I don't want to replace files with a blank wave, Tim. I want the option to change the sound on and off... but more importantly not have the message box.
