Pocket player keeps freezing up my phone..

I use Pocket Player to listen to Audiobooks because it is the only program that I have found that will resume the track from the last position played. It has worked fine for the most part, however every once in a while it will lock everything up to where I have to do a soft reset. It normally happens when I am either listening to it and receive a call, or when I pause it and let the screen lock. When it freezes up I have any idea that I am missing phone calls. I have done two hard resets since having the program and that doesn't seem to fix it either. Are there any settings that I need to change? or does anyone know of an alternative program that has a resume feature?
