Im wundering if anybody knows of away to make this annocence stop??? Im pretty tech savey, and im good with a Reg editor. Thanks for all the input in advance.
Guest necosino Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 Since when do they offer an Omnia as a GO phone!? :-/
Guest morbidrazor Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 I just put a GO phone sim card in, and everything was great.
Guest luxury Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 dont know if it'll even come up in your registry and what the notification process string would beĀ
Guest Yunabeco Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 These are handled by your carrier, in this case AT&T, who thinks it's incredibly funny to remind the customer of his balance every time it changes. Heck, even when it doesn't. Unfortunately, it is not a phone option. It's basically your carrier sending you a text message (USSD) whenever it feels like it. I have the same problem, albeit on a different carrier and country. There aren't many things you can do. USSD can be disabled on most HTCs by a simple registry key (In HLKM/ControlPanel/Phone, New DWORD value, name is SuppressUSSD, value is 1), but it doesn't work on the Omnia for some reason, and disabling it completely prevents you from checking your credit through commands like *77# or *110# anyway. Or you can play around and disable USSD.exe in \Windows, for the same effects. Otherwise, I guess you can try calling your customer support, or checking in your SIM card's menu to see if there isn't an option to disable it, but that's unlikely. You can't prevent the message itself; it's a program launched when needed by the phone driver. However, you can prevent the sound it makes; in HKCU/ControlPanel/Sounds/USSDBuzz, you can empty the Script and Sound values (defaults "p" and "Notify.wma" respectively) to avoid the beeps. Or you can change them as needed.
