Scheduled Text Message Deletion

When changing ROMs on my Omnia I realized that the text messages were able to be sent normally, however, after syncing with MyPhone and reloading all my old texts, I realized that the entry was much slower and that the phone would more times than not freeze when trying to exit the list of text messages. I thought it was the ROM at first, but then I realized it was the number of texts that were stored (a little over 2000). When I deleted these my text messaging returned to normal and never froze.

Long story short, I'm looking for a way to set up the automatic deletion of text messages on the Omnia so that they don't build up like they just have. Anybody know of a setting on the phone or a deletion program? Thanks.
