Battery won't charge; please advise!!

Hi Guys,

I have very unique experience with my omnia; which is very interesting but big same and headache to me. So please help.

1. It won't charge with wall charger when it is switch on. But it can be charged with wall charger when it's switch off.

2. However surprisingly, it gets charge while active sync with PC!!!

Note that, there is no any option availble in the power setting; (settings>system>power)

3. I have also noticed that phone responsiveness also very weak and not to like before.

My current rom: PDA:i900DXID1/DXID1 & Phone: i900DXID1

Will this problem due to my existing battery? That means need to be replaced. Or should I need to consult a technical expert immediatly?

Any possible help I appreciate from expert guys like you.

i had exactly the same issue, but not with my omnia. i have a sony ericsson k850i as well, and had the same problem, it wouldnt charge using the wall charger only with the usb cable connected to the pc.. i thought i would have to buy another wall charger but i tried with another known working wall charger and got the same thing.

what resolved the issue, is that i charged it completely with the usb cable, then used it until it died and tried charging using the wall charger and it worked. i charge it using the wall charger only, but i have to tell u that the issue came back after 5 or 6 months later and i did the same thing and it works !!! :D dont know if it is a "fix" or what...

worth giving it a try :lol:

Got the desaktop cradle with charger and car charger, but non responsive to both these cahrgers too? :( :lol:

did u try the method i mentioned above?

give it a try then see if it works. dont use the cradle or car charger.. the problem is not with the chargers, it with the device for sure.

I don't have the problem, but the one line above of your post sounded weird.

Under settings>system>power there should be 7 tabs for various settings. If you do not have these options, maybe you have a bad flash and should flash again.

Otherwise, can you give more details on that statement of no power options.

i also have issues that it sometimes will not charge.

it seems that the software charger is in some kind of invalid state

sometimes the followeing helps

connect the phone to the charger and turn it on

if it does not charge reset itra couple of times while the charger is connected.

Just flash this rom (Khuanchai_Omnia_Lite_21222_T7), which is WM6.5 based.

I can see that battery charging error fixed now.

But responsiveness very poor. It's like old day windows 486 machine. I will have wait and deal with more patient. Ohooo this is barmy!!! It stuck few second inbetween tasks or any activities. For an example when I using gps softwares there is no smooth flow. But it was working perfectly before.

Any help please.

Flash to another rom if u want better responsivness, but if it's still poor responsiveness, I think it might b the screen's problem

This sounds like a problem with the rom you flashed.

I reverted back to the geniune official rom, but no differnce poor responsiveness and battery charging error still exist!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an ageny and a s***!!! :) I am taking it to a professonal advise tomorrow. <_<

Finally, I got a new phone from samsung as they said it can't be repaired!!! ;) :D :) :o :D lol

So I'm very pleased with the cutomer service of samsung, but it took nearly 4 weeks to get the replacement anyway.
