Hi, i'm new to this forum and a bit of a newbee at updating phones and things, but tried updating the omnia i900 I'd read a little bit about it and found out that i needed active sync 4.5, modem drivers and a fully charged battery, so i proceeded to upgrade to the newest official firmware and about a minute into the upgrade it turned off and now i'm stuck with a bricked phone, now i've read about people on this forum that have had the same problem the only difference being that they have omnia on their screen, i have nothing it wont even turn on, just a red light on the power button, i have had it in a samsung service centre and they say that they have tried everything to get it to work with no success. Has anyone ran into this problem before because all the cases that i have read about have the omnia on screen and mine hasn't, what is the next step as the service centre has said that i need to contact samsung directly and does my warranty cover a bad upgrade.

Thanks and hope for some expert feedback. :D

you'll get more and better replies if you make a post here: http://omnia.modaco.com

anyway, as far as I know, If you don't see the samsung omnia logo, it means that your omnia is not booting anymore and there is hardly anything to do about that. Did you try to upgrade with the official samsung rom? If yes, then it does cover your warranty. If you tried to update with a custom rom, then it doesn't. However, I haven't heard of a single case where they actually rejected to repair a phone under warranty. Usually they don't even check. I think it's a matter of luck.
