Hi all. First post so if this is already addressed somewhere just point me to it -I couldn't find anything with a search.

Just got the Omnia and have been working through getting it set up. One thing I haven't figured out is why when I am using text messaging or email and I start to enter an address in the TO: field it will not automatically fill in with the full address - I have to type in the whole thing.

On my old phone (XV6700) it would autofill or complete the address just fine (WM 5.0). I have tried different settings but I haven't figured it out. I am not a fan of the XT9 and I have disabled everything on it I can - I would get rid of it entirely but I don't feel like messing with the registry - just keep it toggled off on the Samsung keyboard. I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've wondered the same thing. When I installed Wozzer's ver. 2 Lite rom, I got this feature to work by installing the Microsoft Office Cab. It was great. But now with the ver. 3 rom (naked) it once again does not work. I wish someone would share a fix for this.

OK, apparently if you type the message first and leave the "TO" field blank - then type the first 3 0r 4 letters of the recipient name in the TO field and hit SEND. It will pull up a contact list of close matches and then you can pick one from there. When you choose one though it immediately sends the message to the selected contact. So you still cannot use this work around for multiple recipients.

I find it hard to beleive that more people have not complained about this. I think it is a really annoying flaw.

well there is always the "Add Recipient" and "Check Names" button... Which actually what your mentioned, only a partial name, then it brings up matches you can choose from, is what the "Check Names" menu option for. Works on multiple contacts too, just separate names by a semicolon. Sure, it isn't exactly what your looking for, but an extra few presses isn't THAT bad is it? With people wanting more and more out of their devices, its going to be these "small" things that get bunked in the process of adding more and more.
