Hello modaco readers,

my omnia is basically useless in most daylight conditions! It really disappoints me..... is there anything i can do to make it more readable in daylight conditions/?????

I have adjusted backlight to brightest (or very close to) and then set it to automatic.........

I am using touchflo with a black background and white writing..... and can see the big clock (barely see the clock that is)

thanks in advance!

this was the only advantage of my old nokia e65... could detail the screen in any light conditions

The only thing you can do is just shade it with your hand or in the shadow of your body. It's going to be nearly impossible to find any type of backlit LCD that is readable in the sunlight.

look at the sun(dont really do it) and look at your screen in darkness and the sun is much brighter. It will always overpower it.

It's an issue with the distance the display screen is from the outer layer of the screen. You notice with the iPhone it doesn't have the issue due to the outer layer of the screen being less than 1mm. This problem is also apparent while trying to do the touch calibration and looking from different angles.

I got a mirror LCD screen protector that was meant to increase visibility in sunlight by enhancing the back screen, although this was counteracted by the mirror coating of the protector that is meant to act as a mirror while the screen is off, so in the end it made it much worse, couldn't even tell if the screen was on or not.
