Guest geeky Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 My omnia seems to have several random times running on it and i am not sure why!? On the S2u2 / pocketshield screen it sometimes adds an hour to the actual system clock displayed when you unlock the phone. Strangley when you create calendar contacts they sometimes are displayed an hour ahead on the home screen but the correct time is displayed when you open the calender. I also have the same issue with the samsung time manager (although i stopped using it as i find it less useful than galarm). These issues seem to be fixed by a soft reset, at least for a while before it starts to go wrong again. It is really rubbish and i cannot work out what is causing it! Any tips / ideas how i can get around this issue? Or is there a system time sync app that could help? Thanks andy
Guest Jumba Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Disable synchronize time in ActiveSync on your PC?
Guest necosino Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 I would go into your clock, and change your location to another locale, like you were visiting tokyo or whatever.. Then soft reset, and change back to your home time zone. This is the fix I used when (for some reason) texts came in showing the wrong timestamps. Maybe it'll work for you. Let me know!
Guest Christian Spain Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 (edited) I had the same problem with the time getting messed up. It was because the Outlook on the computer and OMNIA were on different time zones so that the scheduled events would come up 8 hours off. (Spain vrs Mountain time) I fixed it by changing the default outlook appointment time zone to the one my omnia was on. Edited May 18, 2009 by Christian Spain
Guest geeky Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Thanks for the tips, but i dont use activesync as all my machines use linux. I only ever use the omnia as a usb drive when connected. Il give the timezone change a go and see how i get on.

Guest Hoederx Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 My clock mess up too, after reboot. I should change it after reboot, wonder what program change it.
Guest Voltorr Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Note sure if this helps, but whenever I use Garmin it automatically updates my time (and i think date) so maybe yours is doing that but not using daylight savings time our something?
Guest barbarony62 Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Hi, I think the Omnia clock/time gets messed up when you use a GPS application.. mine got crazy every time I used IGO. I do not remember exactly how I fixed it, but it involved going into the GPS application and preventing the use of GPS time, or avoiding synchronization of GPS time... etc.... this eventually solved the problem, which only started when we went into summer time. hope this helps. regards The Bar Man
Guest 3shirts Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 There is an option in iGo to change your system time according to the GPS. Not sure where it is off the top of my head but you can just disable it in the settings somewhere.
