BJ2 ICS slower browsing than DUN

Ok I can't figure this out. I can connect my blackjack 2 either through Internet Connection Sharing which shows up as a 10mbps connection and uses the full 3G speed (which I get in my house) or I can connect my blackjack 2 using the "Modem" mode DUN (Dial-Up Networking).

Now using DUN, it connects at 230.4kbps and download speeds are never above 70kbps. However, browsing seems to be very consistant with very little lag.

Using ICS, I can download up to 200+kbps but my browsing feels very sluggish. It takes a long time to connect to websites.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Any suggestions on how I can optimize my ICS connection? THANKS!
