So, I have compiled a list of things that I am strongly inclined to buy to try out and review..

First: A screen protector that is a mirror when the screen is off, then when the screen comes on, you are able to see through it and use the touch screen normally (Seems interesting, if it works!)

Second: A nice flip-top leather case / holster.

Third: A different windshield mount. I am using one right now made for the iPod Touch, which is made from 4 ball-joints. This one I am considering is a single goose-neck design, which would look a lot nicer, I think...

Let me know if any of you have tried any of these. I'm going to try sending the site owner an email asking for samples so that I can do a free review for them <_<

Wonder how scratched that mirror finish will get if you use the stylus...

I use the clear hard case for mine since I heard if you pocket the omnia you may "warp" your omnia

That windshield mount is PIMP!!!

Mirror finished screen protector tends to scratched up easily. Best is to get a clear protector or a matt finish one for better finger feel. I use one from here: www.purplemoo.com can request them for the matt version if you like.

Was wondering about the mirror too, I bought 5 normal ones when i got my phone and was going to see when i ran out of them. I'll try the other ones though.

Prelude: Do you have a picture of the matte finish?

I've been carrying my omnia in my pocket since November and I dont think its warping? Can you link me to where you read that? It does scratch the hell out of the screen protector though.

Edit: just looked at the window mount, nice! It doesnt close off the data port either.

I got a Noreve case which is absolutely superb.

http://www.noreve.com/brand/Samsung/produc..._Tradition.html

Since I did a lot of searching for a quality case here are some findings.

The one shown by Necosino would not suit me for several reasons:

1/ I hate press studs, you will be pressing down on the mouse button or screen to close it.

2/ The case opens upwards which means if you use the phone whilst in the case, the flap will keep falling down (the Noreve opens downwards).

3/ The case flap needs to be held open to use the camera and is likely to flap about in front of the lens.

4/ Bulky belt loop retainer.

5/ One of the worst features - due to the screen being framed by the case even when opened, it is virtually impossible to press any soft keys.

6/ White stitching!

7/ Flimsy feel due to being leather all round. The sides and ends can move out of line on the phone.

Good points on Noreve:

1/ Strong flat magnetic closure which also covers the camera lens.

2/ Easy change slim belt loop retainer.

3/ Very high grade leather with black stitching.

4/ Two pockets for mini SD cards.

5/ Fits my top/bottom pinch car mount with flap hanging open (downwards).

6/ The front flap (screen cover) is actually padded.

7/ All buttons etc available without removing the case.

8/ The back and sides are a hard case - the phone just slides in from the top.

8/ Available in many colours.

Bad points? Well it's not cheap but then it's probably the best available and exudes quality.

Actually it was £25.28 plus carriage & VAT from Pixmania in December. Worth every penny!

Re the car holder. The one shown in the first post requires the phone to be removed from its case.

I got this one from Mobile Fun which pinches at the top and bottom and the Noreve case can be left on.

Excellent product from a superb company.

Blobs, that is a nice case, for not much more than the one I was looking at. I can't really tell if the one I was looking at is a snap-lock or magnetic.

I emailed Brando, and they're going to send me the mount and mirror protector so I'll be able to give you all a nice review on them to see just how good/bad that mirror finished guard is and that windshield mount is compared to the $10 mount I have now.

I have this one...at first I didn't like it, untill I figured out the sides expand to go around the side buttons and usb port. If you have a horizontal vent, once this thing is clipped in it stays. Gripping the phone is easy you just push the sides in and to release there is a button on the bottom like a jack that spreads it out with each click. And it is able to rotate a full 360. I'm horrible at runon sentences.... It also includes a permanent and stick on mount too.

I've always disliked those mounts. Way too bulky and, in my opinion, ugly <_<

I currently have the mirror screen protector for my omnia and have been using it for a couple of weeks now. It was purchased from ebay and ive found it tough, durable and I dont have a single scratch yet (i use the stylus most of the time). I dont have any problems with screen sensitivity.

For me this was a very good purchase. It certainly makes your omnia more eye catching <_<

Awesome, we have some mixed reviews.. I'll take plenty of pictures when I get it, and I'll follow up after a week or two usage :)

It looks awesome, if it works the way it says it does and lasts for a while B)

Im using this one...http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/windowseat# It comes with three different attachments for iphone/ipod touch. One of them fits perfectly and allows access to the data port. Very versatile and all the TJ Max and Marshalls in my area carry them for $10. Im VERY happy with it!

Thank you! That's the one I am using now! I like the one I am waiting for though because of its goose neck, whereas the one we have now is bulky ball-joints, if you know what I mean. I'll post comparison pics once I get the goose neck one in <_<

I have been using the mirrored screen protector for about a week and a half. I've seen no problems with it scratching, but I guess I never use anything but my fingers. Just wipe if off now and thing and your golden.

I was fishing and had my u710 in the front pouch of my waders, I fell in and soaked it. Threw it on the heater vent in the car and it started working again lol. I started putting my phone in a zip lock bag since then.

Wow, let us know how the waterproof pouch is once you get it! It would be great for snowboarding trips in the winter, and going out on the river this summer! <_<

I have the windshield mount from the first post. I got it on ebay for $7 with shipping! It was great for about 3 days but the suction cup stopped working. I am in Arizona and the temps have been around 100F and I think it just melted/stretched out the plastic material. If you are not in a hot area I highly recommend it though. The holder itself is very well made and not large and bulky like the "universal" ones and allows access to all the buttons and ports.

So I ordered the reflective screen protectors. I got one from ebay and one from Brando. I recieved the one from Ebay yesterday and when i opened it my first feeling was a little disappointment.

The brand was Luxmo, which is the same brand of clear protector I have been using, and gets scratched pretty easily. The old clear protector I can scratch just by running my fingernail along, like using the scroll bar in windows.

So Here are the first 2 pictures, First one is the item recieved, and the second picture is my omnia with the old clear screen on so you can see what i mean about scratching. This clear protector had only been on my phone for one week, it looks worse than it really was. This is as the worst angle to capture every imperfection in it.

And here is with the new "mirror" protector on it. I put it on slightly crooked, but I have experience with this brand before so i knew if i tried to lift and fix it, I would end up with slightly bent edges where I lifted it and they would never seal.

You can still see the screen even with the backlight off, but the mirror finish is still there. With more light in the room there would be more of a mirror look im sure.

With the backlight on, you get a rainbow effect, like looking through tinted windows with polarized sun glasses. Its hard to describe if you don't know what i mean, but its acceptable, not an issue in my opinion.

I will come back later after I've used it for a while and let you know how scratch resistant it is.

I'd be curious about the 1440 batter.

http://www.omniacentral.com/samsung-standa...m/8A37A5230.htm

The 1100 just drains to fast when tethering and the 3000 is just way to bulky for me.

I haven't gotten this, but one of the guys from PDA247 has tried it and says it's great! Larger battery AND a place for the stylus to boot:

http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/produ...products_id=559

If I don't upgrade this year, I'll probably order this... I find the "Naked" Omnia too thin for me, and I'll never have to worry about the battery again! <_<

I've used the Mirror protector and in Israeli sunlight it renders the omnia pretty useless outdoors - you can't read the screen at all!

Maybe I had a problematic make - but it seems similar to the photos posted here.

revisiting the bracket, as soon as i got TomTom to work i went out to find a windshield bracket.

i found this at best buy and have been using it happily since.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1138084373352

I am sure you can find a better price online but i just wanted to grab and go w/o mucking with shipping.

As to the actual design, at first i was a little leary about the length of the unit. as it turned out that worked well because i could have it lower on the windscreen but still close at hand.

The claming device is nice. the side holders move up and down as well as side to side. it fit my Omnia great before i got my case (the one with the stylus on the bottom) and after i just moved the side clamps and it fit great again, even when using car charger.

I will post picks later if anyone cares. otherwise I'll not waste bandwidth.
