Guest Omi900 Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Following my 1st attempt at flashing my i900, it appears that I have bricked it. My question: What do I tell the Service Centre? If I tell them I attempted to the flash the ROM, won't the warranty be invalidated? Would the best course of action be to act dumb and say it just won't switch on? But will they be able to tell that I've attempted to flash the ROM? Advice needed please.

Guest Omi900 Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 I remember reading somewhere, I'm sure it was on this forum....that there is a website somewhere whereby you enter your postcode and it will tell you where your nearest Samsung Service Centre is. Does anyone know this website? I've tried googling it but can't find it. Thanks.

Sorry for my bad english. wow !! that's exactly what happened to me last weekend and I gave my omnia to sammy service centre on monday and got it back on tuesday!! they said they changed my board. and IN my repair details form I see this: " Part no. GH82-03430A : A/S ASSY -PBA MAIN (16G) ; SGH-1900,16G,SVC" that was done in mine.. I also thought of it as '16G' and wondered if its something new... but since you mentioned it I am curious!! How better is it??? :-))))) please reply!! I am actually happy that I can see, my Omnia seems to have better battery life now as well.. maybe its the new sector's O1 rom I dont know.. but yeah if you can eloborate on what the 16G PBA can do that would be great. thanks Edited May 23, 2009 by sidfire

To answer your question mate please go here: http://www.http://www.samsung.com/uk/suppo...ocationsMain.do. , and search for with your postcode. Also remember, it is better to go there directly instead of sending your phone through post by someone. If you read my topic (yes I have been through similar ordeal just last weekend! and aint I glad .. I got my phone back in just one day! ) : http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general...-story-to-tell/ Good luck , hope it helps :-) Edited May 23, 2009 by sidfire

I'm thinking the best course of action would be to act dumb and say it won't switch on, and I don't know why. Or can they tell that I've attempted to flash the ROM. Regards

Guest shokka9 Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 (edited) thanks guys.....i now know that my Omnia has been repaired and sent back on Friday 22nd. So i will have it on Tuesday 26th as Monday is a Bank Holiday here in the UK. They fixed the keypad apparently, i didnt even know it was faulty?? I hope they replaced the screen, as that is what i sent it in for... I did flash back to the ROM that came with it originally, removed my screen protector. I did all this so it was as stock as it could be, so they couldnt blame anyting on the custom ROM or the screen protector (for screen replacement). So all in all it would of taken 8 days (including the weekend). I sent it to them on Monday 18th. Not bad really. But a big thanks for the link to that sbe site...all i did was input my IMEI number and it found my Omnia, if you click on the job ref number it tells you everything u need to know... The link is HERE Thanks again. Edited May 23, 2009 by shokka9
