Improve audio on recoreding

Greetings y'all!

After reading this forum for long time, I finally registered to be able to share my knowledge if needed and to perhaps get a hand when things don't go my way. So, concider me new here.

I was wondering if there's a way to improve the sound quality when you record videos. I have tried to find settings for this, but without any luck. Any ideas or suggestions?

If you have a handsfree set plugged in does it use that mic? If it does you could attatch a better mic that way.
