I e-mailed a fellow at Samsung support today, he says there are no plans at present to update to Windows Mobile 6.5 on official firmware. But that may change, keep an eye on the website he said.

As far as I know, DXID1 is a so-called "service ROM". It means that the rom is made by Samsung and may be used in service centers if re-flashing is needed. But it's not official either since the Samsung support website doesn't offer it.

So it's not cooked, it's not modified by a 'master', it comes from Samsung. Let's say: semi-official.

DXID1 is made by a Secany, a hidden Samsung man in modaco. This could be seen as official ROM for i900, since it has all features of an official ROM, not a cooked one. Bad news is that Secany will not develop new ROM for i900 any more, so maybe DXID1 is the last official ROM for i900, unless Samsung has another developer. More info about Secany can be found here

After playing with all kinds of cooked roms, Im now staying with Secany's DXID1, which I found the most stable and long life battery.
