Updating official ROM from : http://www.samsungmobile.com/support/omnia/index.jsp

Which country's should i download, the one which states my version, country or production or country im living in?

My phone version is i900DXHK3

Also, is there anything that i should note so as not to brick the phone? My phone recently installed the ROM from that site, with 100% battery, prompted to turn on his HP, but it never woke up. Red light gone, and nothing else showed up, has to sent to service centre.

DX is for Singapore. You should download signapore version then.

I thought DX is for Philippines while DZ is for Singapore.

official ROM upgrade sucks. I would suggest you to choose a custom ROM.

Hmm, thats interesting. So whats what?

I read in Sector's post, he suggests upgrading to latest ROM first, before installing his custom ROM. Unless i misunderstood him, please let me know.

Its a good practice to flash the latest official ROM first before flashing custom/cooked ROM.

I see, ok. So i should just install with a Singapore or Philippine version from the official site?

u should install with a philipines ROM as DX is for philipines, DZ is singapore and u have DXHK3. select the philipines as country and u should get the DXIA5 ROM.

Ok, thanks.

Would installing the Singapore version brick the phone though?

it will not brick it, u will get the error message of incorrect version. but the ROMS from singapore and philipines are exactly the same, the only difference is the support for chinese language and input in the singapore ROM, while the philipines ROM is only english.

Oic, thanks for clarification. Since i'm chinese, i should install the one from Singapore then, probably thats why Sector suggested Singapore.

its not that simple, u have an omnia which has a philipines rom preinstalled, u will get the incorrect version message and will not be able to upgrade. read around on the forum here, i think there is a thread which tells u how u can use another country rom to upgrade. not sure abt it though that u can install a singapore ROM on a philipines rom without making these changes first.

Found a link here, and saw that actually DX and DZ is part of Singapore's? Am i right to assume that if I dont encounter the 'incorrect firmware version' error, I should have no problem installing.

I just noticed this on my PDA version, which reads i900DXHK3/DZHK3, not sure if its normal to have both, but just i900DXHK3 under the phone version.
