I've pretty much rules out all other possibilities at this point. 2 machines, 1 laptop, 1 desktop pc, both upgraded to Vista SP2 and now neither will sync with my phone. The exact error is: "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)". This error only happens on the PC though, on the Laptop nothing happens at all. No new device in the device manager, no error, and nothing on my phone. It just says connection... for a while then stops. Im wondering if its just me and my phone, or if others with the new SP2 are having similar problems. It worked perfectly on both machine before I updated, and I havent updated anything else except the service pack. No changes to my phone.

Best thing is to try and re-installing the active sync or the original software that you got with the phone (CD Rom), and then it should work... And if it doesn't maybe a hard reset would solve it (but it does mean a lot of re-installing).

i had this issue as well,

to fix this, just go in the omnia, under settings tab-connections- usb2pc, disable the advanced network functionality and it will sync properly with vista sp2.

there is no such thing as active sync in vista,, there is win mo device center.

besides it was reported that there were many issues with the latest version of win mo device center (i think its ver 6) that comes with vista sp2, not only with the omnia but with many other new win mo devices.
