Guest Slappa Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 So I saw this today - Pocket Diablo - which is still a beta, but lets you play Diablo using the stylus. Can't download it as I'm at work, but was wondering if anyone else has had a go? Would be awesome to be able to play this on my Omnia <_< mind you, I went through more than one mouse playing it on my PC... :)
Guest Tim-H Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 I'll trade you my thinking cap for a GPOW!
Guest Compuse Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) I had it on working on my omnia, tho trough a psxemulator and a psx rom <_< Downloading it right away! Oh darn, .. must have original diablo somewhere, .. won't be downing that from work either :) Edited May 29, 2009 by Compuse
Guest bpivk Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Would be awesome to be able to play this on my Omnia <_< mind you, I went through more than one mouse playing it on my PC... :)Preorder some new screens and a new stylus (or 5). You'll need them.
Guest lorin.bute Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Downloading now. I'll let you know. It doesn't run. It requires a dll that is not there.
Guest rungvang Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) copy that dll from Diablo CD, then it will work Edited May 29, 2009 by rungvang
Guest Slappa Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 copy that dll from Diablo CD, then it will work Actually, I think it needs a dll from your Program Files/Diablo folder. Unfortunately, mine is 'pre-patched' to version 1.0.9, so currently won't work. Program's still in Beta, so it's not the complete game....however, it appears to be coming along fairly nicely (and the 1.0.9 thing is apparently going to be addressed soon). I'll keep an eye on it and hopefully it will flower - I've a friend who has Wolfenstein 3D on their iPhone, so showing Diablo would blow them away <_<
Guest Slappa Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Here`s the .dll file :) FILE Awesome, thank you <_<
Guest lorin.bute Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Awesome, thank you <_< It works with this file but its rather slow and its not full screen. You get like 2 cm white space on the right. It needs a lot of work on the game play as well.
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Yes, it`s quite slow, the inventory etc. buttons are too small and it doesn`t react that correct <_< But it`s nice to now that there is Diablo - now my hope is that someone will config it to run better on Omnia :)

The guy that's making it is very dedicated to getting it finished. I've played it on the omnia and it runs at 320x240 (leaving 80px at the top of the screen blank). It runs better on the omnia than the touch (+225ish mhz). You do need the original .dll (not 1.09), but that may be fixed in the next release. The next couple of months will be very interesting, indeed. JJ
Guest smashedpumpkins Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Dang loading all the images on to my Omnia takes forever lol...
Guest Slappa Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Dang loading all the images on to my Omnia takes forever lol... Yeah, mine cracked the sh!ts when I tried to copy it across....15,000 files is rather a lot <_< probably easier to take the card out & put it into a reader.

Change the USB Connection to storage in stead of active sync and then copy everything. It saved me a lot of time.
Guest ionfist Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Its prety good, buggy, slow, but I think it would be better in portrait mode in Omnia since we have a widescreen. And yeah, changing the USB to storage does save huge amount of time.

Guest maf107ezk0 Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Fa310tx, that`s really great news <_< We`ll be waiting for a good update because I would love to play Diablo on my phone :) 2 years ago I would`ve never thought of it even running on my PC B)
Guest ionfist Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 But the picture would be smaller, still, in portrait. JJ The thing is that the game bar is on the bottom and anyway you don't really want more than a square to play diablo.

Guest ionfist Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 I guess I'm not seeing your point. The native resolution of the game is 640x480. Why would you want a square? JJ That is true. What i am trying to say is that 640x480 scales down to 320x240 without loosing ratio. And in my opinion since we have 80 pixels to spare then why not play it in portrait so we can actually see the menus and everything. If we get the code and change it to fit omnias resolution then it would be too wide. But in portrait mode, in my opinion again, it would look better on Omnia.

Guest Christian Spain Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 I tried it but couldn't get past the first loading screens. It would be nice but oh well. <_< :)
Guest Slappa Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 Well, according to the author we're almost up to a 1.1 release, which is supposed to be faster & have the next level......and hopefully work with the patched .dll file!
