Try to install the cab again and then uninstall it.

You need to get accsensor_app.exe from DXHK3 and replace it to your current version, and delete VolumeControl.dll.

Please do that. I like to kill this app too.

I REALLY don't get it why people do that STUPID little bad-usable application in their roms. Apart from the fact that the OMNIA has VOLUME-BUTTONS !!!!!!

maybe because there are 2 distinct volume settings to handle, which you cannot do easily with only 2 buttons ?

ouch, this was an easy one <_<

still, I agree this app is crap.

Well it depends, doesn't it?

If you got big fat fingers, than that may be a reason!

That was even easier ;-)

Anyway: to answer your question: 99% of the time you increase or decrease the volume of your Speaker for music, or anything else like video, or youtube oder browser.

The Phone ringing volume is set once and thats it.

However this app is crap and WHY should CRAP be inserted in a ROM? <_<

Says Who????

You don't speak correctly for me. I change ringing volume for various reasons. If you don't need too, then good for you. But don't be so tunnel-vision and provincial as to project your visualization of the world to think it fits everyone else.

I like the original dropdown with two sliders as I think that looks right for a dropdown, but you pretty much need a stylus to use it. I mostly prefer to use the larger Controller(from the VolUp button) most of the time for ease of finger use and aesthetics. So you don't. Boo-hoo!

While I think the above practice sounds perfectly logical to me, and I might suggest it to someone else, no way would I try to say this was the end-all and be-all for anyone else, as you think your way is.

There are too many comments of people trying to get the Volume Controller to work for anyone to logically think it has no following. Why do you? And why do you marginalize their chosen solution to fit their needs? And if they ask for help in trying to reach their own goal, you should not indigenize them for it. Instead you should have an open mind to grasp how another might see something from a different perspective than yourself.

As my kids use to say: "who died and made you God?".

Very qualified and INDEED very helpful comment!

Let your kids do the thinking for you, it's obviously better ;-)

By the way, you should rethink your tone, may be next time you get a "correct" answer <_<

@cd78: Have you tried Sectors method?

A lot more helpful than your "und is crap" from post #9.

And I did point out the varied uses. More detailed than "und is crap" I believe.

That was quite a leap for you in logic to take my last comment (meant to be a humorous closing), a reference to a kid's comment from years ago, to be the basis of the current foundation of my discourse.

Actually, I tire of matching Wits with you, as you appear to be only Half prepared. (some will catch the deeper allusion of this :) . [hint in bold.])

Ohh, thats realy qualified again...

FIRST of all: I quoted another poster (lastnikita) and agreed to his conclusion (and of course opinion) that ha app is "crap"! I nkow, you have to ab able to READ to get this point...but perhaps this will be more helpful to you...READ FIRST the COMMENT, shouldn't be that difficult! Even for a mentally retarded!

SECOND:

You only pointed out your OWN OPINIION, nothing else. Your opinion is not more worth than sh** to me. At least this THREAD is NOT about your "based on a variety of peoples opinions-statistics diploma theses", but about cd78, mine and others, who like to kill this app from their rom ==> Again READ first, then comment => Header of the thread is: " Replying to is there any way to disable the full screen volume control?"

This leads to my conclusion: You obviously can't read!

Third: You take what you get. I am really disappointed, you even don't get the irony in my last post. So it isn't worth to say anything else here...you won't get it again..In that case I let you believe whatever pleases you ;-)

again @ cd78, lastnikita:

did you manage the sectors way?

I don't have that installed from the beginning, and please do not join my opinion to yours.

as I said, I think it actually is useful, and I do change the ringing volume from time to time.

edited, but quoted your crap opinion about it!

And why don't you use it if its useful?

And again: i dind't say that we don't change the volume, i said 99% of the time we change the speakers loudness (me and others who like to hear music loudly and like to have the speaker a little bit more quiet when not having the earphones plugged).

Anyway, can we get back to the topic of this thread or are all people here just waiting for giving their opinions to everything else but the threads topic?

You need to get accsensor_app.exe from DXHK3 and replace it to your current version, and delete VolumeControl.dll.

If you are cooking custom ROM then you right.

But when you want to disable big volume control on existing device the best way to achieve that is to:

1. Get accsensor_app.exe from DXHK3

2. Rename it to something like accsensor_mod.exe

3. In registry find&replace any occurence of accsensor_app.exe to accsensor_mod.exe.

This is the best approach as there are problems with overriding files located in ROM.

I simply use a better one..

actually I don't even know which one you're talking about, I assumed you were talking about the samsung one, but there are many alternatives.

A small one dev. by a friend, when I used one. I usually even don't bother installing.

There are at least two apps for this in xda-dev forums.. setvolume and I can't remember the other one.

The other one is Volumex (http://volumex.jdbp.mobi). Works nice except for the volume icon tap, support says that you need to disable the Samsung big volume screen...

Is there any CAB for disabling Samsung big volume? or detailed info on which reg keys to change?
