is it possible for me to update my ROM?

Hello all,

First off: I'm sure it's here somewhere, but I simply cannot find a thread that gives me a clear yes or no. I have searched this forum multiple times.

I have a Dutch T-Mobile i900, and I would like to upgrade my ROM to a newer Samsung-original one.

My current version is: i900XKHH4/ATHH5, and as mentioned it is branded by T-Mobile. The device is simlock-free however, so that is not the problem.

So the question is: can this be done, and if it can some pointers in the right direction would be very much appriciated.

yes it can be done. i think if u download from the samsung official site, just choose netherlands a country, then choose ur pc operating system, xp or vista and then enter ur current version and it will let u download version XKHJ3, which is the latest for netherlands now. then just install it to upgrade ur omnia.

But do I understand correctly that I can use the regular updater without problems? I've read a lot about setting the country code to singapore and all that sort of things...

edit: by the way, why do I have a double version number? i900XKHH4/ATHH5

yes u can use the regular updater, and u dont need to change anything to singapore or anything like that, just download ROM for the netherlands and install it. forget abt singapore or changing to other countries, as this will only confuse u more and more for no good reason.

u have 2 version numbers, not double.

the first one i900XKHH4 is the PDA version and the second one, ATHH5 is the fone version.

since the omnia is a smartphone, it has basically 2 components, a PDA and a Phone.

its the way samsung made it to make sure that the ROMs are country and operator dependent.

but i think after u install the latest XKHJ3, both PDA and fone might show the same version or maybe not, i dont know as i dont use the netherlands rom. but it will update both parts (PDA n fone) to the latest available versions.
