I have been trying to get some sort of mobile app to wake up my home computer...

I know this is long and boring, but I wanted to be as thorough as possible - ANY help is appreciated.

I have configured my router:

Linksys WRT54GL - DDWRT - forwarded ports, and added startup command

and pc:

Enabled Wake from PCIE, and in windows device manager, static IP address, etc.

So everything is set up correctly on my home network and PC...

I have been able to use websites, and applications from Windows XP externally to remotely start my home pc:

http://www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/woli.aspx - Wake On LAN over the Internet (through website) - works perfectly

http://www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/wake-on-lan-gui.aspx - Wake On LAN externally on Windows XP machine - works perfectly

SolarWinds WakeOnLan - ran on external XP machine - works perfectly

so, one would think that the ppc program from depicus would work as it has the same options as the website...

http://www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/wake-on-lan-pocketpc.aspx - Does not work

Also downloaded another ppc app from ruwebit - RB|Wake-on-LAN:

http://www.ruwebit.net/wakeonlan/

And this doesn't work either...

The strange thing is, if I enable Wi-Fi on my Omnia i910, and use either one of the PPC programs, it works just fine. (but that is internal to my network). So, I know that the programs actually work.

The only thing left that I can think of is that Verizon is blocking the 'Magic Packets' from getting to my home network.

Has anyone successfully got this working, have any other suggestions, or know that Verizon may be blocking this?

Thanks

Don't know the answer to your question, but you could always just use the web interface at depicus via Opera, no?

Well I tried this again today, and it mystically works perfect.

I used the Depicus Wake On PocketPC app.

http://www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/wake-on-lan-pocketpc.aspx

This was driving me nuts, but now works (tested about 10 times)

Steps:

1 - Enable WOL in BIOS (may be wake on PCI(e))

2 - Enable WOL in windows - device manager - NIC -advanced

3 - Have a compatible router/firewall (I used a WRT54GL v1.1 s/ DD-WRT v24 sp1 std)

4 - Forward port 7 to your static IP of your pc

5 - Add the following config to your router - Administration - Command. (Save and reboot)

replace x.x with the static IP of your pc, replace ff with your MAC address of the NIC

ip neigh change 192.168.x.x lladdr ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff nud permanent dev br0

ip neigh add 192.168.x.x lladdr ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff nud permanent dev br0

6 - Install Depicus Wake On PocketPC application - use setting below:

MAC Address: ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff (same as above - NIC)

Internet Address: public IP address of your router

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255

Remote Port Number: 7

If anyone else needs to know anything else about this PM me.
