Guest chriswells13 Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 So I want to upgrade to the nwe Windows Mobile 6.5 Rom on my omnia but all of then get rid of touch player. So what should I use? Does everyone just use windows media player? It's not free, but Pocket Player is a great music player. Best I've tried and I've tried quite a few.

Guest x.v_ Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 Pocket Player is my personal choice... I've been looking for some time and finally settled on it. ;D
Guest baldoski Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 thanks for the suggestions I use pocketmusic. plays good and with customizeable settings.
Guest spv_dman Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 I've recently been using Kinoma Play for playing music and overall to manage my multimedia files. I've been loving it since <_<
Guest Neil5459 Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 I use Pocket Tunes from Normsoft. Easy to set up & navigate, sounds a lot better than pretty much all other players as its optimised for music playback. Also has a desktop companion for syncing (non DRM) iTunes playlists. Expensive though !
Guest IZIIZI Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 Funny how everyone has different favorites! Which is the best in terms of finger use?
Guest Darthlord Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 The most finger friendly for me is S2P, because i'm always swapping the albums and the cover flow make this fast
Guest Maxwell Newton Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 (edited) There is a big thread already on here somewhere with reviews for the top players. I can conclude though that pocket player is the better program, but its personal preference. Ah heres my post <_< Hope this helps! IMHO Pocket Player is your best option. Finger friendly, looks good and is much better than S2P (for example) at Library control, it works very much like an ipod, if not exactly the same. You can get it here: http://www.conduits.com/products/player/ There is a trial, and then you have to pay, but its worth it. If you dont want to take one persons opinion on it (i wouldnt tongue.gif) then just see that it has won: Best player from Pocket PC 2003 Best Player Smartphone and Pocket PC Magazine 2005, 2006, 2007. At least give it a shot. I did a lot of research when i first got the omnia because i was so dissapointed with how the inbuilt player and WMP handled large libraries. This player has different skins to get it how you like it, it also has hundreds of different options for everything from binding keys for skipping tracks to having notifications in Home screen to screen power save modes. This topic has come up before, and it was agreed last time that Pocket Player offers the most out of all MP3 Players, and is the easiest to use. If you have any problems with it, it has a forum which offer very good (quick) support. It also plays pretty much everything from Ogg Vorbis to mp3. I think it also playes AAC which is handy for all us itunes users! Media player aside, have you thought about how to sync your MP3 players with itunes to only put the tracks on you want (easily)? No need! If you have a massive library that wont fit on your iPod you normally create a playlist and sync it with your ipod. Well theres a little program called iTunesSync which can sync a playlist from iTunes (any playlist, from a custom made one, to the only 5star rated one) onto any mass storage device. It will sort the music how you want, you can have the tracks put on by Artist -> Album -> Track, or even just put all the tracks into one folder. It sync ability is good, so it only copies tracks that are newly added to that playlist, and can delete tracks you have removes from that playlist (just what you would expect from something with sync in the name!) You can get this brilliant app FREE from: http://www.binaryfortress.com/itunes-sync/ This is the set up i have, and i believe its the closest i can get the omnia to an Ipod! Good luck!! Max I would just like to add my comparison to S2P: Although slide to play is a great ap, looks great and is free, it lacks customization and the library feels somewhat clunky, maybe its just the look. Pocketplayer is just as finger friendly and you can flick the screen just like you can in s2P, the only you can do in PP (that i know of) is browse by album cover like you can in S2P. A big downside to PP that some poeple have (myslef included) is that it chooses to sort 'Albums' by the 'Album Artist' mp3 tag, and therefore on compilations you get about 1 listing for each different artist with the same album name for each. I havnt updated for a while, and this is probably fixed now, just wanted to warn you, and to show im not completely biased! Max Edited June 3, 2009 by Maxwell Newton
Guest somedude Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 (edited) S2P is king.... Pocket Play is okay, but you cant browse by folders!!!!! That is a deal breaker for me. I cant listen to all my custom mixes!!!(I mean technically i can, but not in the order i have set in my folder) You would think with all the customizations they would have included a browse by folder option. Guest mcthrills Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 i'm using pPod, which looks awesome, but seems awfully buggy..... if i go with s2p, should i go with VGA or QVGA? unfort theres no WQVGA D:
Guest Sasimikun Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 S2p hasn't been updated since 2008, I'd try Kinoma Play. It looks and feels great and there's a free version available. I've also tried Pocketplayer and Pockettunes, but they...look completely outdated compared to Kinoma.
Guest HellboyMC Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 Nitrogen player suits me best, finger friendly, wqvga resolution, but if you want to have songs organized by artists or any other way, you have to make folders on your own in storage card, well doesn't really matter to me cause u can scroll pretty fast.
