Does somebody have a cab which replaces the stupid windows answer keys with a Slide 2 answer? I know HTC has one, but that doesn't work on the omnia.

The original windows call answer keys are rubbish, I mean, I can't be the only one who accidentally hits the softkey when taking the phone outta my pocket, now can I?

Why dont you want S2U2?

Wow, really useful post;

1. I don't need an unlock screen. Like what's the point again?

2. It sometimes doesn't work correctly, like I disable all the options except the slide 2 answer one and the S2u screen still shows itself every now and then + sometimes it interferes with the normal answer screen, creating a scenario where I can't answer my calls.

3. It uses system resources, which really isn't needed. I just need a slide to answer screen, not a completely program running in the b/g.

Hey no need to take the piss.... My nexy question was going to be about the S2U2 settings. However it looks like you have already covered this. What ROM are you running? I am running:

http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general...ix-31-may-2009/

and i used S2U2 with all settings off for a while except slide to answer. Also if your going to be smart about it, "Whats the point in an unlock screen?", well whats the point in a slide to answer screen? I had no problems with just having slide to answer on, just double check you have all the options for powering off turned off, and then try a soft reset. If all else fails and you still cant get it to work and your on an old ROM, try updating, it couldnt be easier and seems to solve problems just like this <_<

Hope that answer meets your standards..!

Not really, if he had read the topic, he'd seen that I don't use the lock screen.

So there's no other solution other than S2u?

EDIT:

I thought it was common sense why S2u>softkeys to answer phone calls. It's because one doesn't accidentally press a key while taking the phone out of your pocket.

Now compare this to the unlockscreen, which really, everybody just uses because it looks ''cool''. You'll always turn off the screen before putting it back into your pocket, so there's really no need to a lock screen.[or as I'd like to call it, an extra step before one can use their phone]

Oh and I'm using the QBUS 6.1 rom.

PS: I do appreciate your help, but I'm really looking for something comparable to S2 answer on my (ex) touch diamond.

Your question of why lock the phone if you turn the screen off before you put it in your pocket

answered by yourself

It's because one doesn't accidentally press a key while taking the phone out of your pocket.

I turn the screen off when i put it in my pocket so it doesnt waste power. I use s2u2 so if someone calls my pocket doesnt answer it. I've also had things in my pocket with my phone press the power button on the top and turn the screen on, doesnt happen often, but thats another reason to lock it before putting it in your pocket. It's also easier to pull my phone out of my pocket, press the power button and see what time it is, then press it again and put it back in my pocket.

I don't think there is any add in software that will only do slide to answer. Maybe it's lost in translation but you're coming off as kind of rude in response to people trying to help you.

Edit: I'll also add in that there are some programs, that ift left running in the background will "wake up" the screen of your phone if you dont have it locked, and If your huge frustration was that sometimes it doesnt bring up the answer key, and you miss a call.Totally understandable, it can be frustrating, but, all you have to do when the phone is ringing is press the answer hardkey right below the screen.

I agree with OP in that i fell outa love with s2u2 because i missed more then one call because it was confused.

I am useing the windows lock screen in 6.5.

before i settled on that i did look around and the 6.5 lock screen is the best i think.

I'm actually with the OP on the way he answered.... It might seem rude but he specifically said he doesn't want that program... why would be people (the VERY FIRST RESPONSE) come in here and try to push it? Who gives a flip about why he doesn't want it, he doesn't want it and that should be enough. This is not a debate, it's a quest for OTHER solutions. I, too, stopped using S2U2 due to missing calls because of it.

As for the OP, I don't think that there is another program out there *just* "slide to answer"... but maybe you can configure some to ignore the *normal* locking function... I've had little problems using Smart Lock (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505032) for 6.5... you might be able to set that just for incall answer to lock.

The new P h o n e x has a pretty nifty answer screen - a little tab appears on the bottom of the screen which u slide up, and it sorta pulls the answer and reject buttons up onto the screen. Works quite well for me.

Thanks, I'm going to give this a try.

I already tried the 6.5 Lock screen, but it has to be locked before giving me the slide to answer screen. =(

Pocket Shield can give you slide to answer but you have to disable all the locking options or it will lock your phone. But the good thing is that even if it locks your phone it can unlockit via a light sensor so check that if it suits you.

Thanks, but I can't get it to work properly. Whenever the screen locks it seems as if it is programmed for a VGA device. + It still needs to be locked before I get the S2A screen.

EDIT: Currently using Inesoft's solution, thanks to Jason.
