Guest blazingwolf Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 Vlingo has just entered beta testing. It is a voice control program similar to Microsoft Voice Command but it can do a whole lot more. Article I saw it in can be found here: http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=4864 Link to the website: http://www.vlingo.com/
Guest xCorndogx Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 Downloading now, IF it works great, I'll be sure to add it to one of my flavors :D
Guest myoder020 Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) has anyone been able to install it? I keep getting "currently not supported on this device" message. I know it says the omnia is supported on their website, think it has to do with winmo 6.5? tried it on winmo 6.1 and still didn't work so I'm not sure what to do. Edited June 10, 2009 by myoder020

It can only be installed to device memory right now. Not My Storage or a storage card.
Guest Skel1t Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 I think the problem is that it only works on verizon's version of the Omnia(910).

Guest myoder020 Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Alright so I guess it might have to do with wozzer's rom. I flashed blaze's and it installed fine.

Guest myoder020 Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 has anyone gotten it to work? I click the button then tell it to search for something then press the button again but nothing happens.

Waiting for their next reply to try and figure it out.
Guest Bulldogs Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 My guess is that it's set to only work with 6.1, and maybe only a specific setup of 6.1, one that can change the main menu button. I've tried changing it to "vlingo" but that only launches the program.
Guest necosino Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 I was playing with this for like an hour and can't even get it to work once.. It worked once, actually, but I apparently was dreaming about it too (sad, huh? lol)....
Guest i910SlimJim Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 I'm running Bgills WM 6.5 21806 rom... works fine for me. I had to use another Omnia with a stock rom on it though to even get it to download. But from what I can tell none of the text features work like they do on the Blackberry PLUS version. I also have a BB Storm and it works well on there too.. but its not beta on the BB. On the WM version if I tell it to text someone it just pulls up the contact card which gives me the text or call options.. Biggest thing I noticed to make the button press work correctly is hold it down till the microphone icon shows on your taskbar. Once it shows talk instantly don't pause your voice.. once you say what you want it to do push the button again so it closes the microphone connection quickly. sometimes it just doesn't respond correctly at all.. But I haven't tested it much on my other Omnia with WM 6.1. Will let you know later if my results change.

Vlingo does not show a microphone on the taskbar.
Guest omniaK Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 I got the same download error all day yesterday too, tried opera, opera beta, and skyfire to try to download it and it kept saying device not supported... im on an older wozzers M2D Thanks for the cab Blazing, im testing it out now... :D one thing I noticed was their website says "Vlingo's speech recognition accuracy depends on your input. Each time you or another beta user speaks to Vlingo, the accuracy improves..." interesting...
Guest omniaK Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 tried the cab and it says that this is not a supported device... tried to install on Device and Storage....same message...hmmm :D
Guest necosino Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 I have it installed but cannot get the voice recognition point to open during setup :D
Guest myoder020 Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 tried the cab and it says that this is not a supported device... tried to install on Device and Storage....same message...hmmm :D vlingo doesn't install on wozzer's roms for whatever reason, you'll have to flash to another rom if you want it to work.
Guest theidoctor.org Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 i used this for the blackberry storm and it was amazing until they did away with the free version and made people start paying for it.
