Really New...Really Frustrated

Hi Guys:

Ok, flat out, I'm a newb and frustrated because of it. I've read so much on the wiki, I think I've confused myself with what steps I should do first. So I'll put it out there, and if anyone can help, it would be really appreciative (please note, I have been searching for answers, although I'll admit I might be using the worng terminology)

I bought a Tytn II from Australia (I live in Canada and I'm currently with Rogers and no data plan) The phone was listed as "unlocked".

From reading, you guys love more information rather then less, so here you go.

Phone Cpu: Qualcomm® 7200

Rom Version: 1.81.861.0WWE

Radio Version: 1.27.12.11

Operating system for phone is WM 6.0

My PC is a Dell Xps running Vista Home Premium.

I've already installed and downloaded "windows mobile device center"

What I want to do:

Upgrade to WM6.1 if possible

Use my sim card (currently in a Motorola SLVR) on this TYtn II

Prevent all data from being transmitted except for phone calls, and wireless through Wifi

Utilize Tom Tom Nav 5 software (as I already own it) with the internal GPS receiver.

So here I am now exhasberated and feeling really discouraged, if anyone can offer some encouragement or assitance, I would be one happy Canadian.
