A few questions before I get on to custom ROMs

Hi,

I was wondering whether I can start installing a custom ROM... I have this version:

PDA: i900DTHJ5/DTHJ5

PHONE: i900XXHJ1

Now I want to install Shokka's WM6.5 M2D ROM.

Do I have to flash to a more recent Samsung official ROM first or does my current ROM comply?

And do I have to hard reset my storage for this too? Or just my phone?

And is there anything else I'd have to do after flashing or does the Manilla part work out of the box?

And is flashing on Vista using VMWare confirmed fully working or does it still often fail?

Thanks in advance,

ZinuNL.

If you`re going to use shokka`s WM 6.5 ROM you need to first update to DXIA5 because that rom doesn`t include the Phone part :D You don`t have to delete the data on my storage ;)

Right, thank you! Then I'll just find DXIA5 first :D EDIT: How about DZIA5? Since that's the one I get when I want to download from the Samsung site? is that one good too?

And how about VMWare using Vista? Does it always work?

As long as you have the phone part is ok.

I always install from vista using VMWare and it works ok. Be sure to follow the instructions very well.

Good luck.

so if u guys do a hard reset before flashing to a new rom, you guys don't reset "my storage"???

what about all the programs you guys installed in "my storage"?

I thought it was best to do a hard reset on "my storage" too?

I only delete the program files folder because if i reinstall them it would keep old settings or wrong registrations and other stuff i dont want. But i keep all my cabs on my storage so i never format it.
