Guest scuba264 Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Had a very odd thing happen yesterday. Just wondering if this happened to anyone else or if anyone knows why this would happen. First had a problem trying to open my keyboard. I've installed FingerKeyboard 2, and nothing was happening when I would hit the keyboard icon or click in a text box. I figured it was a typical Windows problem and did a soft reset. Starting up, I got messages that it couldn't load some gAlarm exe (I use gAlarm for my alarm clock...it was gAlarmReload or something like that) and another exe(some Scan thing). I use SPB Mobile Shell, and when I went though my Tools, Setup, Programs, I noticed a good many apps (gAlarm, guitar Tuner, most of my games, Google Maps, Total Commander etc... to name a few) Didn't have icons shown, just the default progam icon. When I navigated to the files in the filesystem and tried to run it said that it couldn't find .Net Compact Framework to run. I figured that was the problem and that all the programs must required .Net. I reinstalled and restarted and nothing happened! Still all messed up! I downloaded something else to try reinstalling, when I noticed my save location was "My Storage2"??? This is where the problem was. For whatever reason, I now had "My Storage" which was being used by Opera to save the Cache and also a folder for my Inbox stuff(I've set these both up to go here). And all of my music, programs, pics, whatever....were now in a folder called "My Storage2". The program paths were all to "My Storage" and thats why none of the apps worked. They weren't there anymore! They were in My Storage2. Why would that happen??? It was just like out of nowhere. So I deleted "My Storage" and tried to rename "My Storage2" but it wouldn't let me. I soft reset and then it was fine. I had also soft reset a few times long before this and it never fixed it. Deleting the folder must have allowed "My Storage2" to become just "My Storage on reset. It was weird and annoying.
Guest scuba264 Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Sorry, I guess I should have searched first. Seems other people have had this happen also? http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-h...torage-renamed/ I'd still like to know exactly why this happened in the first place. Something to do with my Opera Cache or Inbox being sent there I'd assume. Maybe I reset it one time and before it could detect the storage, it tried to copy my inbox and created the folder. Then it detected all the storage, and since there was already a folder it had to create "My Storage2".

Same thing happend to me, ok do this - rename your My Storage folder to something random like 111 or AAA, then restart your phone, after restarting My Storage 2 folder should be renamed back to My Storage and programs will work fine after that.
Guest necosino Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Or if it still doesn't work, I had to switch USB Connection to Mass Storage, connect to a computer (and you'll see it as My Storage) Then disconnect, switch USB back to activesync and restart the phone and it was corrected for me.
