now making funny noises

my touch HD is now making funny chirping noises which I find most irritating. it seems to be an indication that an internet connection has been made - but then it continies to chirrup and vibrate every 20secs or so!

i havent changed any settings or installed anything dfferent (except wmwifirouter).

does anyone else have this problem or any advice on how to resolve it?
