Guest xiphrex Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 Hi guys, I thought I should ask this now as Im getting a bit fed up. I have an omnia i900 with SPB3 and slide2unlock and also running SRSWOW so am using slide2unlock to turn off the screen so that I dont get the black screen bug (its a bug of srswow). Here are my issues: 1) If I miss a call or text messages, the screen eventually turns off, which is ok as it conserves battery. But, I have no way of knowing that there is a missed call/text message without physically checking by turning the screen on. Is there no way to have a flashing LED or light or something just to show that something has happened that needs checking? 2) When I get a text it makes no sound even though Ive told it to, but it still doesnt. Is there a way to fix this? 3) At around 11.30pm almost every night I will get an error about the timezone and it asks me to go to settings and set the timezone, but Ive no idea where its asking me to go. Anyway after this error the phone is VERY slow and I have to soft reset. Im not too bothered about 3 as it may be just conflicting software (I have fingermenu and fingerpoint running to make everything finger friendly). But 1 and 2 are quite major problems. Even the nokia 3210, a 20 year old phone, had it light up and blink an LED indiciating it needs to be checked. This omnia though does nothing, it has no reaction. This coupled with no sound for a text message, and I have to literally be staring at the phone to notice the screen light up which then turns off after a few seconds! All help appreciated, cheers!

Guest jenben Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 Mate regarding question 3 try going to settings/system/regional settings/region tab and make sure that you set up your county in the drop down list at the top of page. There is also a time and date tab in regional settings. Brendan
Guest Blobs Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 (edited) Try best reminder http://www.smartphoneware.com/reminder-for...ile-product.php or Don't forget http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/System-U...get-16454.shtml Don't forget can be set to re-boot at night or set to flight mode at certain times but the re-boot facility turns the Omnia off. or PhoneAlarm http://www.pocketmax.net/phoneAlarm.html Edited June 18, 2009 by Blobs

Brendan I thought I should type out the error now that I have it: "Error Invalid Timer Occured, Use setting Menu to set valid parameters Also, make sure your device Timezone GMT matches your city Timezone GMT. You can change your device Timzone GMT from Settings->More->Date & Time menu" Im using alarmpal at the moment, seems to be doing an ok job the one time I got a missed call today. Surprised the phone doesnt just do this anyway by default...
Guest lance_uy Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 i'm also experiencing number 1. my firmware is DXIA5. Whenever device screen turns off, the notification light for missed calls and new sms would stop blinking too. these lights would blink again when the screen is reactivated by pressing the front buttons to awake the device. defeats the whole purpose of a blinking notification light, right? is there a quick fix on this? i don't think alarmpal can address ths particular issue. A registry edit perhaps? thanks in advance!
Guest xiphrex Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Well Alarmpal seems to be doing the job, but theres still no LED light or anything. But at least there is a noise now. Counting down the days until my contract finishes tbh so I can get a real phone...
Guest UncleBeer` Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 PhoneAlarm has a setting specifically meant to counter Samsung's idiocy with the non-flashing LED (originally meant for the i780, but the same 'feature' seems to be built into the i900 as well).
