Guest adiktivedrumz Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 So all of a sudden my Omnia was not ringing anymore or alerting me to new messages. It does not even make that sound when you plug it in to an AC power source or through USB. When i go into the sound settings through system, it says the ringtone file is corrupt or unavailable. It says this for every sound file on my Omnia. Funny thing is the alarm in spb time still goes of and the sound effects of a few games still works. It looks like all my system sounds have been deleted? Can anyone help? Its very annoying. i dont feel like purchasing a ringotne pack for $20. Maybe some kind soul could copy the sounds and post them up? I dont know how to get them back. Thanks. :D
Guest metalmanicman Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 I can't really speak for flashed roms. (re-flash maybe ...) But, I had a similar problem a while ago (factory rom) when I re-associated the mp3 file extension to a different media player. It had the same symptoms. You can navigate to the sound file with file explorer and use the menu options to set as ringtone. does this work for you? Or you could try converting them to .wav ... they should still show up in the dropdown list of sound options. This has worked for myself and Others on a different forum "It looks like all my system sounds have been deleted?" -Can you not find these files in your Windows Folder ?!?! -Can you not play them in Touch Player ?!?! Alternatively, Backup and Hard reset... Fixes All Issues..! Good Luck.
Guest La Traviata Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 I'm having a similar problem. I tried to change the ringtone on my alarm (Samsung alarm) but it alerted me with the old ringtone. When I tried to change it, I got a message that the file was corrupted and to select a different file. I got this for all the Samsung ringtones except the one it had alerted me with (Samsung tune). None of my mp3s would play in media player anymore, but the ring tones would still play in touch player when I tapped them in the windows folder. I did a hard reset and now I can't even see the ringtones in the windows folder anymore. Media player seems to be working again, but the Samsung alarm no longer works and my phone doesn't ring anymore. The alert pops up, but no sound. I copied a WM ringtone from the windows folder into ringtones and selected that as ringtone, but no change. I can play it in the phone options menu, but when a call comes in the phone still doesn't ring. Since I already did a hard reset, what else can I try??
Guest La Traviata Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) Update: I found out what was causing the problem. I set MemMaid to move my ring tones to Storage Card, which apparently had the effect that my phone couldn't find them anymore. Other people who had the same problem simply changed the settings back, but the hard reset I did wiped the ring tones off the main memory. I reinstalled them and can now set ring tones and alarms again, but my phone still doesn't ring. Same problem with custom ringtones. I can set them, play them in the phone/alarm menus, but when a call comes in the phone doesn't ring. I'd rather not do another hard reset, but I need my phone for work and right now the only alert I can use is vibrate. Can someone please help? Edit: Reset MemMaid settings again, reset phone profile, soft reset. Seems to be working now. Edited June 25, 2009 by La Traviata
