Guest Stroud Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 I've been searching for weeks on and off to figure out why this is happening and it's potentially just my ignorance with cell phone roms. But I've been trying to flash to cc20 and for some reason i'm getting repeated errors in the UMDL program. heres what it says after following the instructions, hitting detect and turning the phone on the log states "Rvalue null.. ack recive Faile usbDev open Faile usbDev open Faile usbDev open Faile usbDev open Faile PDA Device not found." any ideas?

When you try to flash cc20 are you selecting img or pda? Here are the steps I followed and I flashed multiple times without a problem. To Flash cc20... STEP 1: Make sure that the active sync connections on your computer is set so to *DO NOT ALLOW USB CONNECTIONS. Step 2: In your phone settings, switch the USB connection from active sync to sync with Mass Storage. Then turn off your phone until later. Step 3: Open the Samsung Omnia UMDL Step 4: Select Unified Image File (*img) and search for the samsung i910 firmware (i910WM6.1.REV10.CC20.VZW.img) Step 5: Click the detect button Step 6: Plug in your phone while it is still turned off. Step 7: When you plug it in, turn on the phone. Step8: Your phone should have been detected and the firmware should be written to the disc. Wait for the blue highlight on the UMDL. Step 9: It should be rebooting and you will need to setup windows again. Step 10: To turn the GPS on, go to settings -> Phone -> GPS -> Change settings from 911 to location on. Step 11: Soft reset the phone To flash a custom rom.... Follow the steps above but in Step 4: Select PDA and search for the custom Rom you downloaded. Good Luck

Guest Tim-H Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 I'm running windows 7 so usb drivers are not needed. and i'm just selecting unified and it auto inputs the files into the pda, ect ect Do you have access to a vista or preferrably XP machine. The UMDL was written to run on XP, and can be run on vista in some cases.

Guest Stroud Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 Even with Windows 7 drivers can be needed. :D Even with the USB drivers installed the same error occurs, tried it on a vista ultimate and windows xp machine as well with the drivers installed on both machines. Same error on each machine.
Guest vash8806 Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 Even with the USB drivers installed the same error occurs, tried it on a vista ultimate and windows xp machine as well with the drivers installed on both machines. Same error on each machine. GOT IT!!! finally...i've been searching forums left n right..finallly found a fix to it... For all Windows 7 users who are having problems flashing new roms... easy fix when using UDML!!! If flashing doesn't work.... 1. Right click and go to "Properties" for "UDML v2.3"...... 2. Go to "Compatiblity" tab & under "Privilege Level," CHECK the "Run this program as administrator" box.* 3. Under "Compatibility Mode," Select "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)."* 4. Apply...OK...now find your icon for "Windows Mobile Device Center," right click then "Properties." 5. Go to "Compatiblity" tab & under "Privilege Level," CHECK the "Run this program as administrator" box.* 6. Under "Compatibility Mode," Select "Windows Vista." ...apply...ok....and now follow this: FLASHING ROM UPDATES!!! 1. Uncheck "Allow USB Connections" in Windows Mobile Device Center. 2. Set Phone to "USB MASS Storage" Mode. USE "My Storage" NOT "Storage Card." 3. USE PDA Button to select "FLASH.BIN FILE" in UDMA Program. 4. Go to UDMA Program and select the "Detect" Button. 5. Now connect the phone to the computer, WHILE ITS OFF!!! 6. Finally, connect the phone & turn it on, Flash Process will begin automatically. WAIT FOR RESTART AND UR DONE!!!

I just had this same problem trying to flash on Win7 64-bit after it already worked and I was able to flash a ROM. It turns out Winamp was somehow interfering with it which I wasn't running the first time I flashed. I closed Winamp and it worked fine again.
Guest 2 Bunny Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 I'm running windows 7 so usb drivers are not needed. and i'm just selecting unified and it auto inputs the files into the pda, ect ect Well, I'll tell you what. Back when I used to have an only semi bricked samsung omnia that I could still flash, Windows 7 was the only os that umdl omnia would work right in for me. The odd thing was, it only worked on one certain usb plug EVER. Did exactly what symptoms your thing is having right now. Try reloading the drivers would be my best suggestion. - 2 Bunny
