I just bought the SCHI910ZKV from verizon. Letting the battery charge up now. Once up and running what are some of the first things I should do? Like backup rom and load Custom Rom? If so what is the newest Rom I should load? Load s/w for telthering? S/W for new menu so looks like iphone or what is better. Seen winterface it looks cool. People that already have this phone tell me what s/w I should play around with? Thanks!!!

Verizon hasn't released an update at all for this phone (after nearly a year of being out)

Go here to flash a leaked ROM that's a lot better than the stock ROM (even has GPS unlocked) Then you can look around the i910 ROM forum for some nice custom ROMs :D

You can just call it the i910, much easier and we'll know what you're talking about :D

And I highly recommend flashing to a custom rom... just remember to flash to the leaked one first.

once you flash from the original you are stuck with it. There is no way to go back to the stock ROM. There are a few programs that will not work anymore, the biggest one is VZ Navigator. If you use that for your turn by turn, GPS program then you will not want to flash.

The CC20 ROM unlocks the GPS to be used with any other third party gps program, and also allows you to run one of the custom ROMs created for the i910.

CC20 was an (un)official leak a guy named azntegra leaked to us, immediately it unlocked the gps for us on the i910, and at the same time it allowed the ROM cooks to pick it apart and build custom ROMs.

you can find all of the custom on these forums here

http://www.modaco.com/category/405/i910-sp...rom-discussion/

there are also other forums out there with custom ROMs. I use Blazingwolf's and it works great for me, but there are a lot of choices out there.
