Upgrading from ACHJ2 to DXID1

I'm currently stuck with the terrible Vodafone branded firmware:

PDA : i900XXHJ6/ACHJ2

Phone: i900BUHJ1

I want to upgrade to the latest offical samsung firmware possible as from what I understand it'll help these issue, vodafone have so far been useless. From what i've read DXID1 seems to be the lastest?

Could someone please give me a very basic step by step guide as to how to upgrade please and to which version as I'm abit lost from reading all the threads on here. It is possible for me to simply download the firmware update here http://bongstersomnia.blogspot.com/search/label/Firmware or do I need to flash to a different firmware before?

Hey

i was on voda achj2 a while back.

You need to have a read of Sectors ROM flashing tutorial (its stickied at top of forum)

then try to flash the rom from this thread: THE ORIGINAL ROM DXIA5 HERE IS 165 MB ONLY

You shouldbe able to flash straight to that.

Remember to use XP and follow all the steps correctly to avoid bricking your I900
