Guest Chimp Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 What is a good Task Manager that can be used on the Omnia with WinMo 6.5? Most of the ones I have seen either don't have the features or don't work well with 6.5. I tried various ones like WKTask (doesn't have good transparancy with the 6.5 start bar), WisBar Advance (same as WKTask and I don't need the skinning), HTC Task Manager (same, plus doesn't have switch to loaded apps). What I would like is one that (1) Appears on the start bar for every screen, (2) Works with 6.5 transparancy, (3) Makes it easy to switch between running apps directly from the start bar. Suggestions to try? Chimp (Tom)
Guest yojoe600 Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 you can switch between programs with HTC and thats the one i use bc its the best so far
Guest Mr. B! Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 Honestly, I stick with the Windows Task Manager and have it mapped to a key and have it replacing the spbms3 task manager. I've tried a few others and like some of them alot, but I never found them 100% stable so i always switch back.
Guest Chimp Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 you can switch between programs with HTC and thats the one i use bc its the best so far Yes, I know you can with the HTC one, but ONLY from the main start (Today) screen. The drop-down for the HTC TM doesn't appear on the start menu bar on any other page.

It lets switch between apps as well

Guest Rob V Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 What is a good Task Manager that can be used on the Omnia with WinMo 6.5? Guess this is a personal choice, but FWIW I am using the task manager that comes with Wisbar Advance (I just extracted that particular .exe file, but have uninstalled the rest of the suite.) I put the .exe in \Windows, and then linked it to the top-right hardware button(aka "Main Menu"). To me, this is perfect because I can instantly switch between running tasks and/or kill a task.. Plus, I like the full-screen transparent overlay and that the whole process is so quick and thumb-friendly. I liked the "swipe up" way of invoking the original Samsung task manager, but have always had trouble with it - especially when trying to kill just one app. And even that is slower than tapping the hardware button.

Guest TheDrizzle Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 TaskFacade is AWESOME. It make my winmo device feel like a palm pre. http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-downlo...ask-facade.html Its a bit slow to start sometimes, that would be my only complaint. However, seeing the snapshots of each running app and zoom animation when it switches is neat-o.
