Guest ianbeale Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 Ive had this phone for about 8 months i think. If im honest ive never really got on with, the screens not great and personally i always felt its not finger friendly. I probably should have got something a little more user friendly i guess, but hey ive got it and im not going to change it till my upgrade comes along so shouldnt complain. I remember spending the first 3 months looking through this and other forums installing anything i found and hard resetting a few time trying to get going in a way i was happy with. Im on uk vodafone and was always scared to flash it, as if i bricked it, i didnt want to shell out for a replacement. Ive ended up just having the widget screen and sms chat and i barely use this handset apart from going on opera for the net. But i was just thinking the other day, that i should be getting more out of this phone and its should be better for me. So any recs on what i should do, id consider flashing, that 6.5 looks interesting but is it worth it/what i want? Any advice much appreciated.
Guest necosino Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 1: Get WinMo 6.5. The new menus are incredibly finger friendly! If you flash it and it bricks, simply play dumb, say you went to do a hard reset and now it won't turn on, and that it's defective, and you shouldn't have to pay! (Works like a charm). 2: Get a different calendar app, like SBSH Calender, or ThumbCal, they made a huge difference for me. 3: Consider using a third party User Interface, like Mobile Shell 3 or Manilla 2D (M2D)
Guest ianbeale Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 One thing i forgot to say was does inputting text ever get any easier, i remember using a few keyboards a while back and they never really in my opinion made much of an improvement on the original. Predictive text and poor as well. As for a rom, if i was to go for 6.5, what am i looking for. Which one? on time when i have looks its seem a minefield. Thanks

Thanks I used Wozzers for a few months and just switched to Adrenalyne's and it is a VAST improvement on speed, reliability, apps, etc. I run the M2D and love it! Also, I switched to TouchPal for a keyboard and SUPER responsive, well on the thumbs, awesome predictive text as well as text correction. I HIGHLY suggest you try that out.
Guest necosino Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 I use Blazing Wolf's, but Draconis and I are both on Verizon's i910. If you're on an i900, there is a separate forum for their ROMs I use Touch-Pal as my keyboard, and it made a tremendos difference as well. The stock keyboard isn't bad, but its nothing in comparison to third-party apps.
Guest ianbeale Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Yes, i am on an i900, what one would be best to select?
