Updating firmware with Windows 7

I have an Omnia i900 branded UK Vodafone with free sim.

Version: PDA i900XXHJ6/ACHJ2

PHONE i900BUHJ1 running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional

I would like to update to samsung firmware i900DZIA5_updater_vista.exe. This seems to be the latest and best firmware, and I hope it gets rid of all the Vodafone useless stuff.

Can I update directly by running the above DZIA5 exe file? Or is there a specific procedure. I have seen a lot of different procedures on the forum, but I cannot understand which one to use. I am new to this kind of stuff.

You have found some procedures? You can try the one on the most authority forunm. Usually it's better choice.
