Guest tallemann Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 Hello! I want to set an individual ringtone for a contact. I set up this special ringtone; the format of his handy number +41 (123) 4567890 should be correct. But when i receive a call from him, i heard the normal ringtone and not the ringtone i set up in the contact! Is it correct when i have different numbers of this contact (fixnet, handy etc.) and this contact call me from one of this numbers i should hear the special ringtone of this contact which i set up in the contact? Is there somebody who can help me? Thank you very much Thomas
Guest SirGaz Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 I've found that the format of the number received via a phone call is different to the format of one received via sms. For sms I have to have the +44 infront (and drop the leading zero) but for a phone call it's the usual format. Best way to find out is go into the Call History program and see what number has been registered in that, then set the number in your contacts to be the same. I also use the car phone number to store the sms (in the different format) so that both numbers will correctly show the names.
Guest Bazz Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Numbers entered with the +44 will still be recognized even if the call appears to come from 07. Do you see the correct name coming up or just the number? If it's just the number then that's why it ain't using that ringtone - it don't recognixe the numbers. Try taking out all spaces and brackets. If it is recognizing the nuimber and displaying the name then I can't help you. Sorry...
