Guest pacman9889 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Ok, ultimately I'm looking for a way to access shared files on my LAN via my Omnia. I've been reading around and taking a Networking class, and a VPN sounds like the way to go. I was able to set up the incoming connnections in Vista, and forwarded the port in my router and allowed the connection in my firewall. When I tried to log into the VPN with WinMo, I put in my IP address as the server. When I tried to connect, my firewall gave me a pop-up, so I think the connection might be working, however, the Omnia said it couldn't connect. Anyone have any ideas who have done this, or any other suggestions besides a VPN. Also, am I right in assuming that my computer's IP is the address I need to connect to, or do I need to run server software to set up a domain?

Guest pacman9889 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 OK, so after a bit of finessing, I got it to connect, the problem lies with my Comodo Firewall. I've set up the rules, but for some reason, they aren't working quite right. It only works when I disable my firewall. Anyway, for anyone who is interested, here's a really good article about the sever side, and the client side in winmobile is pretty self expainitory. http://www.smallbusinesscomputing.com/webm...cle.php/3785976 Now the next step is actually seeing the files on my LAN, anyone got ideas for that?
