Guest Chimp Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Huh? ;) I think he is being sarcastic.... :D
Guest blazingwolf Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 I think he is being sarcastic.... :D Yeah, I figured. I just wasn't sure what an i190 is. I know I don't have one. ;)
Guest necosino Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Yeah, I figured. I just wasn't sure what an i190 is. I know I don't have one. ;) Heh heh, Thanks BW.. I want to ruffle up some feathers now and get people up in arms against Big Red again, even if its just phone calls, so they know they can't continue to break their promises and withhold needed updates.. :D
Guest Adrynalyne Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 And you think this is the forum to do it in?
Guest necosino Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Yeah, since I'm sure you (chefs) would love a new base ROM to work with, especially since it had been promised to you and since other phones have had their updates released, why not the Omnia's? Why shouldn't we be a little peeved about it? Why shouldn't we be calling, asking questions, letting our frustrations be known?
Guest Adrynalyne Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Us chefs could care less. Its not going to bring anything useful to the table.

Guest Eschelon Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 or roms are are light years beyond what any firmware upgrade they will provide, i mean do you really want to go back to 6.1. So let's just say that Verizon does, in fact, release an official ROM upgrade. Would we be able to install it and then flash to your guys' WM 6.5 ROMs from the official upgrade?.. Or would that most certainly brick the phone?...
Guest Mr. B! Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 I kinda agree with necosino. Thanks to you guys I really have no need for the official update from VZW and IMHO what you chefs have cooked up will probably be better than anything they release, but if we don't get enough people to make a stink about it they'll continue to screw people.
Guest balaams_ass Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 our roms are are light years beyond what any firmware upgrade they will provide, i mean do you really want to go back to 6.1. is it not possible that radio firmware will be better in a release then C220 ? if so can you not just update the radio ? just axin
Guest Mi6 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 (edited) HAVE HOPE GUYS!!!! On engdadgetmobile they mentioned the Samsung Saga got it's official update TODAY! Omnia is BOUND to be next!! Keep and eye out!!!!! http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/06/29/v...ed-gp/#comments Edited June 29, 2009 by Mi6
Guest Mi6 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Saga got its update a week ago. That's not like them to post something a week late. I guess our phones get overshadowed by the iphone pre suckers.
Guest Keith210 Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 Us chefs could care less. Its not going to bring anything useful to the table. I would still like to see what it brings to the table. I just flashed from Wozzers 6.1 M2D to your 6.5 Vanilla rom and am liking it alot. Can't see where they would give us anything that would top what we have now(they could if they wanted too). I would just like to have access to an official rom just in case I needed to take my Omnia in for some hardware problem or something. At least they couldn't blame it on the cooked rom
Guest Tim-H Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 That's not like them to post something a week late. I guess our phones get overshadowed by the iphone pre suckers. Engadget is run by apple ass kissers. They also hold on to "news" for a while incase they have a light day so they can fill their pages.
Guest necosino Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 What time is that for? Midnight EST of the end of the first half of 2009 (When Verizon was supposed to have released an official update for the Omnia)
Guest Mr. B! Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 screw the update and give me the damn omnia II already. still think everyone should write them a nasty letter though. matter of fact I think tomorrow I'll go make a poor vzw reps life miserable about it for kicks.
Guest Rob V Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 I think tomorrow I'll go make a poor vzw reps life miserable about it for kicks. In fact, I was in one of the larger VZW stores yesterday speaking with their tech support people (needed a replacement for a broken Omnia holster). I asked him about the long-promised update. He said that he'd also heard rumors a few months ago of an upgrade to unlock the GPS, but nothing since then. So if they are planning to release one, it appears to be a big secret even among their own techs.
