Guest lostunsunghero Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 (edited) hi, i decided to sell an old omnia but when i try to hrd reset the main memory it comes up with a message saying: When phone is turned off, you cannot hard reset. Turn phone on and try again. i find this odd because the phone is on or how else would i be able to do a hard reset and see that message. i have tried the other method where you push soft reset and then hold the call and end call keys but the phone just boots up as normal. the storage memory can be cleared but not the phone memory. ive also tried to reinstall the firmware but that doesnt work because when i try it says my phone already has the latest firmware and quits out the application. any ideas? cheers. EDIT: i think its somethign to do with the phone signal being off (i.e. in flight mode) but when i try to turn it off in the settings it just comes up with the winddows mobile spinny thing and doesnt actually do anything. EDIT2: managed to fix it. for all those who may have a similar problem just manually uninstall every program using the remove programs function then restart the phone when you do this turn the phone back on by disabling flight mode, then it should do the windows spinny thing for a bit then when it does that it wont be back on just yet, you have to retart the phone again using soft reset and it should now be recieving a carrier signal if u have a valid sim card.
